From Crisis to Calling

Hi, I'm Oladepo Oreofe Daniel — software engineer, animator, and most importantly, a sickle cell warrior who refused to let pain define my purpose.

In 2025, during one of my darkest moments battling a severe sickle cell crisis, I experienced a profound awakening. Despite Nigeria having several sickle cell foundations, I felt invisible—like no one truly saw me or understood the depth of my pain. In that hospital bed, surrounded by machines but feeling utterly alone, I realized that countless other warriors were drowning in the same silence.

That moment of isolation became my moment of purpose. As someone who crafts code day and night and brings stories to life through animation, I decided to transform my pain into power through digital storytelling. Instead of surrendering to despair, I channeled my technical expertise and lived experience into something revolutionary: a worldwide family where every warrior feels seen, heard, and celebrated for their courage.

We Warriors was born from this intersection of struggle and innovation—not just another organization, but a movement that ensures no warrior ever fights alone in silence. Through cutting-edge technology, compelling animation, and unwavering faith, we're building bridges where walls once stood, creating hope where despair once lived.
